The Metal Acetate Path of Alchemy

The metal acetate path of alchemy was also called the Ripley method. It is not the same as the book of Aquarius methods since they focus on different materials. Ripley’s bosom book; https://amzn.to/45m4eIg outlines the metal acetate path of alchemy. While The Book of Aquarius; https://amzn.to/3MJPag5 illuminates the animal realm of the ancient hermetic science. Both are great reference books in my opinion and together they bring back a sizeable portion of what alchemy is.

What is alchemy? Alchemy is an ancient branch of esoteric philosophy and Hermetic science of occult knowledge stemming from the first five recorded centuries known as the theologian era. Zosimos of Panopolis was a Greco-Egyptian alchemist and Gnostic mystic who wrote the oldest known books on alchemy during the third and fourth centuries. Other famous alchemist’s such as Cleopatra, Maria the Prophetess, King Eros, laid the foundations of the hermetic occult science. Hermes was called the father of alchemy by some, and a restorer of the art by others such as Theophrastus Paracelsus. Hermes Trismegistus the thrice greatest master of the three realms was credited for preserving the ancient science of alchemy in the emerald tablets of Thoth, Atlantean alchemist from Atlantis. These early alchemist’s laid the corner stone of the lost hermetic science.

Early Modern Alchemist’s such as George Ripley picked up the torch and were credited with expanding the art with extensive experimentation and new recorded documentation such as Ripley’s bosom book on alchemy. His most notable medieval would was called the compound of alchemy and he became famous as the author of the Ripley Scroll. His work laid open the metal acetate path of alchemy.

The most famous legendary alchemist of all time was perhaps Nicholas Flamel who had a dream he would receive a book from an angel displaying the lost secrets of alchemy. For the cost of two florins the Paris bookseller soon had a new mission in life which caused him to become the center of legends of alchemy. His mausoleum was engraved with ancient hieroglyphical figures including a sun, above a key, above a book.

Michael Sendivogius was credited with illuminating an overview of the alchemical art and its changes through time in a manuscript called The New Chemical Light preserving the art and its history of alchemy especially noting some of the differences between ancient Hermeticism and medieval alchemy. which is later reinforced in the renaissance era alchemical literature of Theophrastus Bombastus Von Hohenheim, also known as Paracelsus the great, who was a swiss alchemist physician who claimed to prominently display the philosopher’s stone on the hilt of his sword. History suggests that Paracelsus was killed by knife wielding assassins and his sword stolen.

Alchemy was left shrouded in mystery not only due to countless code words being substituted in alchemical manuscripts disguising the true ingredients used in the recipes, and often the recipe themselves hidden with coded words. From this i distill in my mind, three main areas of work, and various methods developed to shorten or improve those processes with breakthroughs in the art such as the invention of new laboratory substances. Salts and dissolving waters led to the discovery of acids much different than the original ways of water and fire acting on earth (matter) either with or without the presence of air. This point takes me back to the alchemical writings of the immortal alchemist Nicholas Flamel in which he recalled all those years it took him to discover the secret method of how to marry the sun and moon in alchemy. The secret pass keys in alchemy seem to revolve around a mystery between iron and sulfur. The wet path of alchemy also highlights a “secret water” known only to the alchemist.

Alchemy and The Sophick Hydrolith

How to make the philosopher’s stone, alchemy Secret Water Stone

A work of Hermes illuminated in the Emerald Tablets of Thoth involved water, fire, and the tree of life which is different from the Ripley acetate path of alchemy and described in The New Chemical Light Alchemy Manuscript attributed to Michael Sendivogius.

Alchemist’s like George Ripley worked with metallic ores and dissolving waters to make their “philosopher’s stone”. This was called a work to the white and the red. It involved dissolution and coagulation, separation and purification of alchemical substances to produce a white earth and a red oil. The oil was used to imbibe, dissolve, and multiply the white earth to form a red “stone” or crystal. The alchemist physician Theophrastus Paracelsus was also known to perform this work since it was noted in his alchemical manuscripts.

This type of early modern alchemy was much different than the simple older methods of Hermes. The Emerald Tablets of Thoth were said to come from Atlantis and depict water as the subject matter worked upon. Michael Sendivogius illuminates in his writings that it is ameliorated by fire. The ancient tree of life is also included in this work. Alchemy of Steven School. Do not try this at home. Not for consumption.
